Umrah visa and the Nusuk BRN, explained

Published October 25, 2026 · Umrah Best Services

Two things confuse almost every first-time pilgrim from Pakistan: what an Umrah visa actually requires, and what a Nusuk BRN is. This guide explains both in plain language, using operator-published process facts. Where a figure below comes from operator guides rather than an official source, it is labelled as such — and nothing here is a promise about your own application.

Who decides whether you get a visa

The Saudi authorities decide every visa application. No travel agency — including Umrah Best Services — can guarantee approval, and any agency that promises a guaranteed visa should not be trusted on that claim. Our visa assistance, as stated on our Umrah visa page, covers document checking, application preparation and submission follow-up. Approval itself is never guaranteed.

Documents usually asked for

Operator guides consistently list the same set. Confirm the exact list against your own quotation, because requirements can change:

  • Passport valid for 6+ months
  • CNIC (and B-Form for children)
  • Two passport-size photos on a white background
  • Meningitis ACYW vaccination, taken at least 10 days before departure
  • Polio (OPV) vaccination for Pakistani passport holders
  • Name matching exactly across your passport, CNIC and vaccination certificate

What a Nusuk BRN is

BRN stands for Booking Reference Number, issued through Nusuk Masar. In practice, a confirmed hotel booking plus a confirmed transport booking generate a BRN that covers every night of your stay — and operator guides state that a visa cannot be issued until that BRN exists. This is the “no booking, no visa” rule you may have read about. Operator guides also state that bookings made through general hotel sites do not satisfy the requirement: the hotel and transport must be Nusuk-registered. If your hotel or transport is not Nusuk-registered, a BRN may not issue at all — which is why the booking behind the visa matters as much as the application itself.

How long does it take?

Operator-published ranges — not a UBS guarantee — are typically 5 to 10 working days once a complete file is submitted, and 3 to 5 days for clean files. Apply 3 to 4+ weeks ahead of travel, and 60+ days ahead for Ramadan, according to the same guides. A missing document or a name mismatch is the most common cause of delay, so the document check above is worth doing carefully.

Season dates for 1448 AH, as published

Guides publish the following 1448 AH season markers: visa issuance began 31 May 2026; last visa issue 9 March 2027; last entry 23 March 2027; last departure 7 April 2027. Treat these as published markers and confirm them before you book, since official dates can change.

After the visa: printed eVisa and the Nusuk app

Keep a printed copy of your eVisa with your passport, and install the Nusuk app before you travel — you will need it for your Rawdah permit, which is booked separately through the app and is never promised by any agency.

What Umrah Best Services does — and does not do

We check your documents, prepare and follow up your application, and state what is included in writing in your quotation. We do not promise approval, a processing speed, or a visa route we have not confirmed for your situation. If you are unsure whether your situation fits — for example, you only need a visa and have arranged your own accommodation — ask in your enquiry and we will state our exact scope in writing before you commit to anything.
